Sargent Cranberrybush Viburnum
Red Berries All WinterThe Sargent Cranberrybush Viburnum, Viburnum sargentii, is very similar to American Cranberrybush, but will not grow as large.This shrub has beautiful white blooms with a low-to-the-ground branching habit. It will form a large upright, rounded, multi-stemmed shrub.It has a fantastic red fruit display with bright, translucent red drupes lasting well into January. In the fall,the foliage will turn an excellent red-purple color.'Sargent Cranberrybush' Viburnum is very much like the 'Snowball' Viburnum, except that the leaves are thicker in texture, and it bears fruit.When used as a specimen or patio tree, leave plenty of room for root expansion. It will mature to 10' tall with an equal spread. It can be pruned to any size. It grows best in full sun or partial shade, in moist, well-drained soil. Sargent is very vigorous and resistant to aphids.
