Round Fluffly Evergreen Makes a Giant Impact!The Little Giant Arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Little Giant') really lives up to its name. It is a little plant - especially compared to its skyscraping Arborvitae cousins - only reaching 4ft x 4ft. It has little leaves and needs little pruning and gets by with relatively little attention.But what isn’t little about this plant is the giant impact it will make in your garden. As one of only a handful of landscape plants that grow in a naturally spherical shape, it will really stand out against all of the cones and columns you’re used to seeing in evergreens throughout the year.Little Giant’s small lacy fan-like leaves (actually flat needles) are a rich deep green that makes it a fine stand-in for boxwoods and hollies. It will even do the same jobs as those guys – form it into a low border, tuck it into a foundation planting or single it out as an interesting specimen plant.Little Giant does the best in full sun, but will generally appreciate some light afternoon shade in hot summer climate.
