False Cypress - Gracilis, Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gracilis', has a strong central leader and a distinctive and refined pyramidal form with whorled, flattened sprays of dark green foliage.A graceful addition to any home landscape, this small accent tree features finely-textured deep green foliage all season long. Gracilis adds an interest to the landscape with its slightly drooping branches.This slender Hinoki Cypress is one of the most acceptable for hedges and screens; not used simply for an exemplary specimen. This is a relatively low maintenance shrub. If any pruning is needed, it is recommended to trim back the new growth of the current season, and remove any dieback.Gracilis prefers full sun or very light shade, and well-drained soil. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments.
