The Galaxy 315w CMH ballast is thermally optimized via a non-fan cooled aluminum housing, while using an extremely efficient 50/60 Hz low frequency, square wave technology. This Galaxy CMH brand technology 315 ballast operates at 277 Volts and offers a rated life of 50,000 hours. This 315 Watt dimmable Galaxy ballast operates a 315 watt ceramic metal halide lamp ANSI: C182 at 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 100%. The ballast comes prewired with a lamp cord receptacle that is compatible with all Sun System LEC brand reflectors. The Galaxy 315W LEC ballast features a hard-wired 6 foot 277 volt power cord with a L7-15p twist lock plug. What is Ceramic Metal Halide? Ceramic Metal Halide, sometimes referred to as Light Emitting Ceramic (LEC) or Ceramic Discharge Metal-Halide (CDM), is a type of light that is 10-20% more efficient than traditional quartz metal halide, and produces superior color rendition.
