It prefers a loamy, well-drained soil. It can be grown in sun or part shade, but does best in full sun.Japanese Kerria is a good shrub that has been used since pre-civil war times. There are few plants that can produce the orange/gold flowers so early in the season.Kerria japonica 'Pleniflora' can be used in the landscape as a specimen or in a shrub border.
