For a neat winter decoration, use the berry-laden winter stems for indoor floral arrangements.This coral berry is deer resistant. but it is an important wildlife plant. Songbirds, ground birds, small mammals and browsers use the plant for food, cover, and nesting.The Amethyst is very tolerant of any soil, native on limestone and clay but the location needs to be well-drained. The plant requires medium moisture. Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees and shrubs.
