Christmas Blooms for Your Home Yuletide Camellia, Camellia sasanqua 'Yuletide', is an evergreen shrub with ornamental features. These would look stunning as a hedge, foundation plant or even planted in containers for your front porch. As you watch your landscape fade and settle in for winter, your Yuletide Camillia will just be getting started. Three-inch blooms of breathtaking scarlet will appear in fall, their single blossoms cradling bright sunny stamens. Glossy, dark green foliage will fill out your shrub, the perfect showcase for the showy blossoms (and an evergreen presence in your yard throughout the year). The gorgeous flowers will persist late into the year, a cherry welcome to your winter days. The flowers are long-lasting (as are the branches), should you decide to cut a few for an indoor display. Your Yuletide Camellia will grow up to 10 feet in height with an equal spread. It has an upright, pyramidal shape, and a branching habit with a compact nature. Yuletide Camellia is a low maintenance shrub that grows naturally beautiful, but it won’t mind a bit of shaping if you’d prefer to tailor it a little. Yuletide’s blooms are lovely, even in decline. As the flowers fade, the pretty red petals gently flutter to the ground to form a soft, bright sprinkling of red color below the glossy green foliage.
