This coneflower is stunning with ornamental grasses, easy to grow in full sun to part shade, and does best in full sun.This plant adapts to drought, moist soil, heat, humidity and poor soil. Coneflowers do double duty when it comes to benefiting wildlife. The new flowers provide nectar for butterflies and other pollinators, while old flowers provide seed for songbirds.The dead flower stems will remain erect well into the winter and, if flower heads are not removed, are often visited by goldfinches and other birds to feed on the seed.For best results, plant 'Ruby Star' in full sun in a well drained area.
