The Autumn Sun Coneflower, Rudbeckia nitida 'Herbstsonne', has tall, upright, branching stems that are topped with bright yellow daisy-like flowers. The petals droop from a large green cone.Showcase this beauty at the back of the perennial border since it gets 6-8’ tall.Its blooms start in July and continue into fall. Autumn Sun has a great winter interest, so leave plants in fall. It also provides a natural bird feeder!Water plants during the summer if rainfall is less than 1 inch per week. Cut stems back to an inch or two above soil line and clean up vegetation in early spring.Divide plants every 3 to 4 years as new growth begins in the spring, lifting plants and dividing them into clumps.These Virgin coneflowers can be used as accent plants or in mixed borders, open woodlands, and mass plantings.If you leave the coneflower seed heads on the plant at the end of the season, they will provide winter interest and food for native songbirds.* Deer resistant* Easy to grow* Drought tolerant
